(The Time of Walking on Remembrance)

Since I’m already off-topic due to the requested song not exactly falling under the Indie genre, I’m going to take this opportunity to post one of my favorite Korean (soft) rock songs. This song came out when I was… a freshman in high school (damn), and I still find myself going back to it from time to time. I had one of those metal/rock phases during my high school years, and while I didn’t fall as deeply as Slipknot or White Zombie, it was still pretty bad. I think bands like Nell helped me crawl out of the darker(?) side of music. When I listen to some of the songs I used to listen to back then, I don’t understand how I could’ve possibly liked them. I was a troubled child. I guess liking mellower music is just another sign that I’m getting old.
NellWhenever I listen to these songs about missing someone, which is like at least 80% of Korean songs, I don’t know who to think of. In fact, I don’t think of anyone unless there’s some specific anecdote. This certainly isn’t a good thing, but I never had trouble letting people go. It seemed rather natural for people to come in and out of my life, probably because I moved around a lot when I was little: From Korea to Hong Kong to the US then back to Korea and now here in the US again. Hopefully by now I have met some people I will miss. I still can’t tell.

Nell – Time Spent Walking Down Memory Lane

I can still hear you
I can still feel your touch
Even today, I lived through your traces

I can still see you
I can still feel your warmth
Even today, I lived within your times

On the faces of the strangers I pass by
On the falling leaves dancing through the wind
On the night breeze scraping by my cheeks
You’re in everything I see, hear, and feel

What about you, dear, what about you
Do you feel as I do, my dear

I still feel you
Even at this moment as I sing this song
I still see you
I’ll still see you tomorrow
I’ll still hear you tomorrow
Tomorrow will be just as today

On the faces of the strangers I pass by
On the falling leaves dancing through the wind
On the night breeze scraping by my cheeks
You’re in everything I see, hear, and feel

What about you, dear, what about you
Do you feel as I do, my dear

On the fallen chair lying by the empty road
In the water inside this glass I picked up
In the mirror where I should be standing
In the song that fell softly on my ears, you’re there

What do I do now, what do I do
You probably erased me, what do we do now

Your memories find me from the open doors of remembrance
My eyes keep tearing up
Your memories find me from the open doors of remembrance
My heart keeps tearing down

Your memories find me from the open doors of remembrance
My eyes keep tearing up
Your memories find me from the open doors of remembrance
My heart keeps tearing down
